For the firm whose leadership development programme recognises leadership gaps and provides relevant and innovative interventions.

2018 winner

Bird & Bird

One of the biggest challenges faced by any professional services firm is achieving gender diversity within the partnership group.

Bird & Bird’s programme has been tackling this issue head-on since a pilot two years ago, and is now on to its second full programme. Importantly, the CEO has set a target of 50% female partners for the firm. The program has gone on to achieve national recognition.

The judges were impressed that the programme is both holistic and integrated, and goes beyond ‘training’ to employ elements such as: the establishment and nurturing of role models, creation of networks, and comprehensive communications.

Best Programme For Leadership Development

Jo Caulfield, Frédérique Dupuis-Toubol, , Laura Whelan, Elizabeth Lang and Ben Kent (Merdian West)

Joint 2nd place

Dentons & Womble Bond Dickinson

The judges felt that both these programmes deserved recognition.

They both score highly on three factors: Support and modelling by the management team, Effective communications to stakeholders, and Measured impact.
In addition, Dentons’ approach employs technology in a way that is both innovative and practical; and WBD’s includes a deeply personalised element – by eliciting and sharing the stories of how participants and firm leaders have grown professionally.
