2017 winner

CBRE

The judges were impressed by the fact that CBRE was able to create a cross-border project, that brought members of different offices together across the EMEA region and had support from the top of the organisation down. The impact of the Girls Education Challenge in West Africa, and the numbers of staff involved, are also very impressive – and they had both a clear set of KPIs and developed an exit strategy, two elements of community programmes that are often overlooked. The partnership with Plan International to support 135,000 children in 720 schools in Sierra Leone, raising £1M+, was also robust enough to adapt to changes on the ground – for example the challenges of Ebola crisis.

This project addresses a set of social issues through the secondment of employees to the Immigrant Council of Ireland. Since 2013 the project has addressed the difficult issues of family reunification, international students, citizenship and permanency, as well as human trafficking and domestic violence, helping to improve the service on offer and developing the skills of the lawyers taking part.
