Foster + Partners
Foster + Partners is a global studio for architecture, urbanism and design, rooted in sustainability, which was founded 50 years ago. Since then, it has established an international reputation for excellence in design. It integrates the skills of architecture with engineering, urbanism, interior and industrial design and many more. These diverse skills make the practice capable of tackling the widest possible range of projects, from door handles to entire cities. It is responsible for iconic projects around the world such as Beijing Airport, Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank, 30 St Mary Axe – popularly known as the ‘Gherkin’, the Millau Viaduct and the Apple campus. Over the past few years, the 1,300-strong practice has been completely restructured, transforming its ownership structure from one founder to almost 150 partners. It has established itself as a truly global practice whilst maintaining its position as ‘the most admired architectural practice’ for the past twelve years.
